You had me laughing one moment and crying the next with this, Terry. Poor Becky. She didn’t know what she had until he was gone.

Very true, Holly, a bit like the Joni Mitchell song Big Yellow Taxi. We were completely surprised that Becky missed him

As a cat lover, I teared up with your loss of Claudius and Becky. It was a confusing sadness as I was still laughing so hard with tears streaming down my face (literally) with your grand topple. So, I suppose the tears rolling down my face carried a lot.

Hi Renee, nice to hear from you! Yes, it's sort of bittersweet, isn't it? I was thinking this morning, ALL our dealings with our animals are bittersweet, because we usually outlive them. It's so awful when they move on that I always swear "Never again", but the house seems empty without them: a house, but not a home.

Yes, internet connectivity issues in the woods visits us from time to time.

Right before COVID hit, my beloved kitty got sick and died in my arms at home. It broke my heart. I swore "never again" too. Yet, prancing paws dance around our home again.

oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. But "prancing paws" is a lovely expression! They bring so much happiness.

I was laughing about your conundrum until I got to the part about you losing your cats. Here this whole time you thought Becky didn't like Claudius, and then it looks like her heart was broken. So sad.

Beautiful, hilarious and poignant, Terry. I'm so sorry that you lost Claudius and Becky - how horrid that they left in such quick succession. A lovely story.

Thanks, Rebecca. The thing that really surprised us it that it seemed Becky missed Claudius, after apparently ignoring him for years
