Wowzer, Terry! So impressive. So so impressive. I take my hat off to you. This one goes above and beyond. You really captured the essence of Holmes here. Bravo, sir.

Really? Thanks very much indeed, Nathan. I tried very hard, and very much enjoyed writing it, as perhaps comes across. 😁

You did really well. Would love to see more fiction from you like this 😁

Thank you. Well, funnily enough, writing this has prompted me to think that perhaps I CAN write fiction despite my protestations to the contrary. Obviously nowhere near the same league as yourself, @Sharron Bossano, @Jim Cummings or @Dr Kate Waller, but even so: small beginnings 😊 Thanks for your encouragement, Nathan

Piffle, nonsense talk. You've got what it takes. I think you should strive to write more fiction. I'd love to read it.

Gosh, I haven't seen "piffle" in a long time! I used to use " bosh" a lot! Well, thanks for kind words. I shall cogitate on't. 😀

What a thoroughly enjoyable read! Obviously I was gripped by the storyline, and worried for many paragraphs about whether - and in what state - Lord Freedman would ever surface. Great notes to finish - I always learn a great deal from your posts, Terry, so thank you!

Thank you, Mary. Oh yes, I had to get him in somehow. I mean, the whole story was preposterous so I didn't think one more bit of preposterousness would make much difference 🤣

Preposterous? Nnnnnnot true, then? #devastated

I really enjoyed this.

You capture the tone, the essence of SH so well, and with precision. Possibly your best interpetation yet, IMO...

Thanks very much, Prue. I did enjoy writing it, and the research (the bus routes and timings, plus reading)! Glad you enjoyed reading it.

I so enjoyed this, Terry. Like Holmes, your attention to detail is very impressive, even down to the bus timetable! That the bus ran on time was,of course, because not even a London bus would mess around in a Sherlock Holmes story. I loved the idea of a possible elopement with a beloved feline to Gretna Green. Actually, thank you for mentioning Gretna, because it reminded me to text my 65 year old friend. She and her beau (not a cat) are eloping tomorrow night on the Caledonian Sleeper to Glasgow and then on to Gretna. These are the type of friends I have, eccentric, and in this case, also romantic.
