I'm quite taken by your Mona Lisa! I never did well in my art classes either. Ha! My 8th grade teacher actually yelled at me because I couldn't understand the graph technique for drawing. LOL.
You are clearly a woman of refined taste who appreciates great art, unlike that Rebecca Holden who thought I'd given the Mona Lisa a come hither look 😂
What IS the graph technique? I've never heard of it.
I'm sorry you were yelled at for not understanding something. That's one weird teaching technique, that's for sure.
HEHEHE! I now have to go look at Miss Mona again to see what Rebecca saw!
The graph technique (I really don't think that's the true name. I was only 13 and that was a looooooong time ago so memory is hazy) is a method in which you draw (this was before computers) a graph on your paper and on the picture you are copying to accurately represent the subject. I couldn't make the graph for the life of me, so I just drew the subject. It turned out well, if I do say so myself, and was quite proud. This infuriated the disgruntled art teacher who probably hated teaching and just wanted to be employed as an artist in some capacity. He was so unhinged I was stunned and thankfully not hurt. Strange memory from long ago.
Great post, Terry! Your version of 'The Scream' is uncannily Munchian - a perfect ten. However, I'm more than a little concerned by the intentions of your 'Mona Lisa' - her message feels a little more 'come hither' than the original. As for Ophelia - she's an absolute winner. If that double-armed gesture of hers as she sinks beneath the water doesn't capture the notion of something being 'rotten in Denmark' in its absolute entirety, I don't know what does. You've saved readers of 'Eclecticism' around four hours of a numb bottom watching a production of Shakespeare's longest play: it's all right there in THAT picture.
And on the theme of rotten, I love that 'rotting' is part of your weekend schedule. Brilliant! 🙌

Oh, I remember that method. I was hopeless at it too!I think it was invented by people who could already draw!
Those sketches are laugh out loud funny! Thanks!
😂
Thanks for the mention Terry! I appreciate it. 😃
I'm curious. Doesn't that hot water bottle freeze? In sub-zero temperatures water usually turns to ice.
Well, I fill it with boiling water. I guess it would freeze given enough time.

Love the art--especially Ophelia!
The way you subtly tossed the scream in the deep end and called him/her/it Ophelia gives me great pleasure. Finally a reason for all that alarm.
🤣
Thanks, Jody 😂
