You need the Leaf Filter for your gutter problem. It fits over your gutter and blocks anything from getting in there. It's a popular advertisement on TV here in the U.S.

Loved the video, Terry. Great voice! All very good advice, too.

And yes, wind and cycling can be no fun indeed, especially with hills, and even more so with Escher's hills!

I liked the video

Oh Terry - first off, that wonderful video of yours has brought a tear to my eye. 🥲

And you think YOU'RE knackered? I had to have a lie-down after just READING about your bike ride....

Thank you for the mention - are you bracing yourself for my latest missive, due to be published tomorrow?! And what great links - those'll keep me quiet for a long time (which is something to be celebrated, or so I gather from those closest to me). 😉

The mystery of windy weather and student behaviour still remains unsolved.

And? Splendorous to be hackered. I'm also a cycle-biker aging in a jungle of unbrained drivers and steeps. What about an electric aid? Would be a sort of abdication if we put an engine on a traditional bicycle?

1. I'm sure if they could they would. Some schools are using AI with the teachers relegated to the role of guides. There's a plan or proposal to use 18 year old as teachers through on the job training. So there's a process of deskilling going on in my opinion. 2. No, she eats so.much that she won't fit. 3. Have I? 🤔 4. Aw shucks ☺️ 5. Thanks!

Wow! Those were some windy conditions for cycling, and good for you for giving it a go! Sounds challenging to me. You would be a great commentator for the Tour de France. My teacher script would be, "Don't slouch. Stand up straight." Also, always love your drawings and creativity in solving problems with the help of your cat(s). My writer's woe: as I'm getting older, and I've noticed this SO much in the last year, I have so many typos, even though I reread things multiple times. 9 times out of 10 I edit everything and update posts. Sheesh.

Still chuckling out loud from your video. L.O.V.E. your wildlife documentary voice and think you should star in your own video, documentary, or otherwise.

Thanks dear Terry. I can see why Willow continues to have the down-turned mouth. Even when her owner gives her enrichment activities like helping clean out the gutters, she seems to get the poor end of things. (Can’t think of the right phrase but you know what I mean). And yes, never enough time. Take care dear fellow. All the best.

If an American decided to start using "knackered" instead of "tired", would that be permissible or would it be Madonna-with-a fake-British-accent pretentious? Asking for a friend.

Thanks for the shoutout, Terry!

I have the luxury of writing when I feel like it. If necessary I quote Rick Nelson in "The Garden Party":

You can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself.

1.) "... training day consisted of giving the staff scripts to use when greeting the children." But why not just hire an android to teach and manage the classroom? Then they wouldn't have to pay a human educator OR a trainer? I'm just saying 2.) Say, when you are using your gutter cleaner, do you actually draw it down the drainpipe as well? Somehow that seems a bit harsh. 3.) You have made two worrisome references to your mortality lately. Feeling old? Yeah, me, too. 4.) Loved hearing your (muffled) voice. So many books, so little time. More, please! And 5.) Terry, you are definitely not called a writer for nothing.

I particularly enjoyed your voice over and reference to Winnicott; very concerned about your gutter clearing solution though...

And?

😂😂😂

Sorry, I could not resist. You must be in pretty good shape if you can bike uphill into a 30 mph wind. Impressive.

I love the word knackered. So much so that I've tried to incorporate it into my vocabulary but being American it's never quite become natural.
