A great selection of things here, Terry. I'm particularly interested in that book about how words get good. Sounds like a great read.
I always enjoy having a sly glance at what people are reading on public transport. It's quite a fun game if you can only see a fragment of a title or an author's name. I then go Googling to try and work out what it is, and then play out an imaginary conversation with a person about the book, using my recently-acquired Google knowledge of said book.
So much interesting stuff here to read, Terry! Thanks for putting it all together. I have to put it on the back-burner for a couple of days, but I will comment when I have read it all! By the sound of your calendar, I think we both may need to slow down a bit... don't you?
Another awesome* start to the week, Terry - I really enjoy these posts!
I think I've seen you mention the Rebecca Lee book before - I might have to look that one up myself.
I'm no stranger to calendar catastrophes (cal-astrophes?) either. In my former role as (utterly lamentable) PA to a very demanding boss I once booked his entire family on a flight home the day BEFORE their very expensive holiday ended. 'WHEN I GET BACK, REBECCA', he yelled down the phone to me from the airport, having just been told that his flight had departed the previous day, 'WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A VERY SERIOUS DISCUSSION ABOUT YOUR JOB.' 😱
And thank you - you're so kind to have linked to 'Dear Reader', and to have encouraged your readership to keep an eye out for my limited-edition 'A letter ABOUT Terry' tomorrow. A brave move... 😉
Lots of goodies.:)
Archnemesis?? 😆
Take your time, hone those copy/pasted OMGs.

*non-hyperbolic truth
I've added it to my growing list of words to submit for their consideration, Mitchell! 🤣
It's a brilliant neologism that's for sure 😃
