Clearly my own schedule is in the wind, because I'm coming to this 'Start the week' post on THURSDAY.... I don't know where my time has GONE!
Loved your report of the open day at the vets - what a fabulous idea! Hope Elaine's enjoying her treats. What did Willow, Mocha and Misty have to say about that? 🤔
A few thoughts, first I love the bike video! Yes, that bridge looks intense, and, how about the dude carrying his dog?!
Congratulations on your subscriber growth, that is so wonderful!
I hope others offer their thoughts as I could be out to lunch, but it seems your description is too long. It is all one sentence so I think folks may simply give up. What about trying to remove some of the extra words, yet convey the same idea:
Lighthearted musings on the everyday with occasional deep, worthy cogitations about the important stuff. Book reviews, writing experiments, prompts & advice on creative non-fiction.
Perhaps you need to group the topics together, the musings and the writing. They are two different things but they blur together in the one sentence.
I also dislike writing those bio/about type blurbs (who does like them?) so you did a great job. Your writing is extra hard to explain because it encompasses a lot of different things.
Thanks for kind words, Patricia. Honesty is much appreciated. I think there may be more than two in some weeks because of guest posting or cross-posting, but I'm going to do my best to slow it down!
Some weeks is fine! 💞 I am happy you took my feedback without offence. I was posting four times weekly at the beginning and my friends, who mostly comprised my readership at the beginning, told me it was overwhelming. Now I post twice weekly with a monthly business newsletter on the 1st.
I never take offence at honest feedback politely expressed. In fact, I welcome it. My response to feedback expressed impolitely is borrowed from the blues singer Bessie Smith: If you don't like my potatoes, why did you dig so deep?
i think it was a lyric in one of her songs. Another was "If you don't like my peaches, let my orchard be" (Thanks to @sharronbassano for that one I seem to recall)
Yeah well, she told me to do some dusting so no more treats for her today! Yeah, it's a great version isn't it. John Lee sounds exactly the same in every song, but it's good!
Loved this!

They are not impressed 😂
I'm not surprised! 🤣
😂
Loving John Lee Hooker, and your blurb is spot on for me. A slower pace would always make sense to me; also liking your drawing style.
"Our vet practice had an open day on Saturday, and they were giving way treats for pets, so I picked up a couple of bags for Elaine."
Since when did Elaine turn into a cat? :).
😂😂

Thanks, Donna, much appreciated. I'll play around with that idea.
Thank you for slowing down the frequency. I enjoy your work but the volume was too high. 💜 twice a week sounds perfect if you want an honest reply.

Your schedule sounds good.
Searching that song immediately! Have fun developing your new flow...

I hope Lady Elaine enjoyed the pet treats. Be careful not to spoil her Terry.
Love the collab with Hooker/Morrison. Just awesome.

Love that pregnant pup x-ray! So many tiny spines, bless.
Also, for what it's worth, I really like your new blurb.
I know, it's wonderful, isn't it? Thanks re blurb. I never know what to write tbh.
