So much wonderful distraction you offer here! Thanks for your guest post "writing with constraints" on Writing in Company. If I rewrite that last sentence in your N+7 constraint it sounds like this: "Thanks for your guggling postal on writing in comparative government."
"Persiflage"! Fantastic word, thank you for that. And thank you very much for the shout out. Last post was perhaps not so gentle, but there'll be a return to normal programming soon enough.
I dearly loved your sketch map. And I wonder if you might enjoy listening to this short interview with Story Musgrave https://fieldd.substack.com/p/story

I tried to learn how to play guitar twice in my life and gave up after one week. But I never stopped singing in the shower, does that count? 😁
Is this your way of testing the market by reviewing books that don't exist or having others (ahem, Nathan!) review them? I wonder, does it work? I'll continue with your chapter from the book you didn't write yet... or did you? 🤔
One week??? Blimey, and I thought *I* was impatient! Shower does not count. Chortle. I hadn't thought 9f testing the market in that way but you've hit on a brilliant idea Claudia 😂 I haven't written it, but am tempted to
Why German all of a sudden? And why French somewhere else? Are you showing off your polylingual skills? I can barely speak English myself, so I'm impressed.
Excellent. I can't vouch for looks that could kill etc (though I can believe it) but have long admired your intellect and insights and am really delighted to have connected with you 😉
Congrats on learning a new instrument. Looking forward to hearing about the open mic night one day! 💜
1. Thanks. 2. OMG. 😂
Fats Waller ruled! I subscribed to Death and Birds, too. Thanks for both, Terry. You always have something interesting to me!
Pleasure, Sharron 😉
Loved the Fats Waller clip.
Re: Answer to Mystery, I guess I was overthinking it. (Way overthinking)
I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what you come up with for Nathan!
He's great isn't he? He took tear jerkers and made them comedic. Brilliant pianist too IMHO.
It's all too easy to overthink. I'm an expert in that!
Me too! A plan is forming though, snicker

Thanks, Julie!

Thanks, Chloe and thanks for the link. Fascinating

Do you know any songs by Wet, Wet, Wet ?
Do they have a song called 'Love Is All Around'?

I think this is the best book marketing strategy that I've seen so far on Substack...
I was really proud of my shower singing. Thinking of recording an album...
😂
You should!
Or perhaps I already have and I'll ask someone to write a review... 😉
Write the review yourself, under a pseudonym
That will make me an influencer...
It ... It was a sham ... ... ! 😱😱🫨
Sorry old bean
Don't play innocent, Nathan.
Yeah, like he didn't know! 😂
I couldn't possibly know what you're referring to 😜
😂
This is what the Germans would say: 'Ach so'

I have many talents. Here's something a work colleague (and actor) wrote about me many years ago: https://kbnymets.wordpress.com/2011/11/
