Great story, Terry, very naturally told and you sound like a total natural up there. Lovely to be able to hear the audience reactions, too.

Sweet story. Well told! Extemporaneous storytelling is tough. We have Spark here too. I’ve always been curious.

It's very much a mixed bag. Nice atmosphere. I haven’t been since before lockdown. Where is "here"? Thanks for kind words 😀

One of my favorite Freedman stories. Loved hearing your voice again, Terry. It is interesting that you do not sound like the curmudgeon we all know you to be.

Thanks, Sharron.

I made a special effort to hide my curmudgeonness. Boy, what a strain. I had to lie down for a week. That's probably the reason I got ill afterwards.

You were charming, Terry, no wonder they wanted you back (I’m not joking !)

Such fun, Terry! I'm not sure I believe in reincarnation, but Ruth clearly knew, somehow, that you were meant for Elaine. Maybe a younger sister in a former life? :)

Thanks, Elizabeth, glad you enjoyed it.

Who? Ruth or Elaine?

Reincarnation: I bet you said the same thing the last time.

Ruth, who knew enough to keep you at arm's length until Elaine came along.

Or perhaps a higher power did. I'm the one who caused the break-up, not Ruth, because I was an idiot.

Is your sister still five years younger? I know she was at the time, but things change. Actually, five years is a recurring theme when you listen to this. I did love the idea of writing that card in advance as you knew you wouldn't have time whilst meditating. That's proper planning, that is. Mind you, Elaine must think you're a proper old romantic (cough)... Cracking stuff.

No. When I was ten years old, I was twice as old as her. When I was 15 I was only a third older than her. By the time I was 20 she was older than me.

Funny, isn't it, about the five year gaps, but that was absolutely true!

Well, it's a good example of the lengths we blokes will go to in order to get the girl so to speak!

Have a cough, do you? Typical.

Thanks. 😁😁

So that’s what you sound like eh? Well, what you sounded like ten years ago anyway. You really were flustered and definitely unsure about the rules, but it’s a good listen. Thanks so much for sharing.

Thanks, Beth. I was nervous rather than flustered. I did know the rules, but the time ran away with me. Still, the audience didn't seem to mind 😁😁
