Lol. Sorry, Nathan. I haven't yet had the courage to tackle that book (the crossword puzzle version is bad enough). Would you recommend it? Am I correct in thinking it comes as a pack of separate pages?
I haven't tried it myself. I only know about it from a friend. Yeah, it comes in separates pages, or at least ones that can easily be torn out I think.
I have ordered the postcard version of it, though, which releases at some point this year. I feel it's more a novelty/interesting art piece than something I'll actually try to tackle properly.
My first response? The girl at the tram stop has no feet. They’re using AI for book covers now without even the slightest attempt to modify the results to make sense? But by the time I finished the ‘review’ it all did make sense. Crazy fellow. Grin. Thanks Terry. Enjoy your Christmas.
You hooked me at the beginning and I was thinking what a dreadful book, this author is up themself, what a pain. I didn't twig 'til you started talking about the combinations and how long it would take to read. Darn! I am so gullible.
Absolutely bonkers, Terry! I'd just about got far enough in to think 'hmmmm, maybe Terry ISN'T pulling my leg about this after all.....' and then 💥BOOM!💥
SUCH a great read. (But you're utterly bonkers.) 🤣
I was VERY suspicious... but then you were banging on for long enough to make me think that you were for real! 🤣 You'd pretty much convinced me, despite my initial cynicism.
I thought this was really until you mentioned the dice. But its fun!
Putting restrictions around writing, rules and such, can be really generative and help you think of ways around you may not have thought of.
Hah, you got me!! Totally thought this was a real book and my interest was raised.
This reminds me a bit of Cain's Jawbone: https://www.booktopia.com.au/cain-s-jawbone-edward-powys-mathers/book/9781800180796.html

I hadn't noticed!😂

Nonsense, June. I'm just a convincing liar! Chortle! 😂

Yeah well, it takes one to know one, that's what I always say!! Chortle! I wondered if you'd twig, or be suspicious 😂

And you STILL got me...... 🙄
😂
It's interesting that Oulipo involves self-imposed restrictions. Usually restrictions are put in place by people besides the author....
True. I hadn't thought of that. From my experience, self-imposed restrictions don't mean an easy pass!
