Thanks to everyone for their comments. I'm not used to writing poetry, so I'm glad that people seemed to find this effort enjoyable. Now, to add (I hope) to your enjoyment, this post also contains a secret theme, to which there are three clues. Do let me know if you think you've cracked it -- all will be revealed in due course!
I can relate. I'm also eagerly waiting for *real* spring to arrive and I envy your blooming daffodils. Things are still mostly dormant here in the Hudson Valley and we're due for another snow storm next week!
1.) I also live in England. So I feel a sense of camaraderie. Not just for the absurd weather (it snowed here yesterday!) but the rest of the absurdity.
2.) Eros is stirring - one of my fave Gods. Son of chaos... he is embodied chaos come creation, fertility. Nothing speaks of Spring like Eros.
3.) He is within us - all humans are fundamentally creative (I believe). If we're not creating with intentionality, we are still creating chaos. Which ultimately organises itself into something. Even though according to rules of thermodynamics, entropy only ever increases... we find ourselves here, existing as highly ordered systems. And we think we have nothing to do with it? Our consciousness? Anyway. Spring is coming.
(Thanks for asking the question, I've basically written my post!)
TBH I’d spotted exactly what you were up to before I clicked through to see your pinned comment! But that’s only because you’ve tuned me into looking for your devious verbal tools...! 🤣 Such a fun post - I loved it! 🤣
Eros is stirring! Is he EVER! This the the rainiest, coldest California winter in my loooong memory. Brrrr! As you, we're watching the sky, waiting for the first sign of sun so we can shed our clothing once again and jump into the sea. A very timely poem, Terry. Simple and simply lovely!
Thanks, Sharron. Wot part of CA are you in? I was in Los Angeles a few years ago, and suddenly there was torrential rain. Loads of cars on the freeway pulled over. Not me: I was used to it (a typical summer's day in England!)
I am in Santa Cruz, a small seaside city on the central coast about two hours south of San Francisco. Californians do not know how to drive in the rain. We either pull over until the crisis is over or we barrel on through at normal speeds and wreak havoc. It is ridiculous. Not sure what a pinned comment is, but I will have a look!

Well done, Sir😁
Okay. I cracked it. Cool.
😂👍
I think I see it, but one doesn't seem to fit...
What do you think it is?
abecedarian?
Well, sort of, but there is a hidden theme. I can either give you clues, or tell you the answer. Which would you prefer?
Look at the range of letters in the title
ok. Then please do give a new clue or two. Thank you :-)
Good post. It is cold in Tennessee too.
I didn't think it EVER got cold in Tennessee

Now I communicate exactly a charmed regard over style that I caught.
Terry I love this poem! May I share it on one of the next Three Things Weekly?

💧 Great poem, Terry! 💦 I’m enjoying these challenges! 🐳
Thanks, Rebecca. I'm pleased to see you've worked it out! Thought you would. (Clever clogs 😡)
I’m interested though in the significance of the title? Have I missed noticing something there? 🤔
See my email
I had TOTALLY missed that!
You win!
(AGAIN.......)

What's your nearest town, Michael? I was in LA once when there was a downpour. Please read my pinned comment too 😄
A beautiful poem, in such gray everyday life, it cheered me up. Spring will bloom soon! Thank you.

It’s the comment at the top, Sharron. Terry’s clearly messing with us again...! 🤣
Most likely...
As if I weren't already crazy enough.
😂
A poem that sounds like Seattle, as well!
Thanks, Sherman. I've never been to Seattle, but it sounds tempting! Please read my pinned comment too 😄
