I'll hold my full opinion until I hear the live performance that Mary is asking for in the comments! This is brilliant Terry, and while all the versions are excellent, I prefer the blues.
I love this and can hear the disco beat in the background. I vote for a live performance. Disco was big at the time the Opal I was driving had a hole in the front passenger-side floor, big enough to see any road surface and for any object less than 10" in diameter to fall through.
Your passion for music is obvious. OMG. Grin. Great job. And thanks for the other two links too. Disco allows male doctors, blues and soul are ladies eh? Intriguing. A fun read. AI (and riffusion) continue to bend the rules of reality. Such strange people in their little worlds. I never want to visit though.
When I linked to the Soul version, I could not scroll down. It might be a glitch on my end.
So, I think both versions are true to their respective genres.
Curiously, though, the Blues version emphasizes the companionship of the singer's woman, while the Disco version is essentially a long excuse to the singer's woman. Not knowing the back story, I might be suspicious of the fidelity to the truth of the Disco narrator. Could he have been grooving with someone else?
Lol. He could be an unreliable narrator! Thanks for your analysis. I've been focused on being true to the genre, but the relationship to "my woman" didn't impinge on my consciousness. I'll check the scroll business. Thanks!
I don't know, Terry. There might be some singer songwriter going on here!
The AI gen comics by Nathan really added to your story.
My math brain is off line for the crossword portion. (I'm sorry!)
And 'Stayin Alive' is now playing in my head! 🎶
It's a great song isn't it!
I feel like it's relevant! I wish your Experiments in Style candidate kinder outcomes. He's really taken alot for us writer students!
LOL That is very true. I am, in fact, working on a version. that would satisfy that wish!
FUNKMASTER TEL AND THE GROOVEPOTS - oh my giddy aunt, Terry, this is phenomenal!!!!
(Please note my comma placement - it should be absolutely clear that I am not addressing you as 'my giddy aunt Terry'.)
Thanks, Rebecca. Glad about that comma 😂
🤣
🤣🤣🤣. ooh-ooh, baby...
🤣🤣

Thanks, Donna. I'm afraid you'll be waiting a while 🤣

Thanks, Mary. A bit like the Flintstones' car then! 🤣
Exactly!!!😂
Chortle!
TBH, I'm speechless with awe of yourself and all the contributors in the post.
How do you manage to think so widely outside the square?
Astonishing!
Thanks, Prue. I dunno!

LOL Thanks, Beth. Yes, I love most kinds of music!
I can certainly feel the groove going on, but I'd really need to hear it (with a video) to truly appreciate the mastery of what you've done here 😉
I second that! Terry, please get recording, otherwise many of us will be deeeeeeply disappointed......
😂
Lol: feel the groove coming on 😂😂
OH! but, Terry, you MUST perform this! You can't just set us up and then wimp out. Ooooh baby I want to see you move it and groooooove it!
Hear, hear!!!!!!!
Don't you start
🤭
Lol. I don't have the backing singers, the instrument or the recording technology. Sorry!
Pffffffffff. Excuses, excuses..... 🙄
😂
Rats! It would have made my day.
Mine, too!
Sorry not sorry Chortle 😂
and mine! sorry!
As a disco music fan, I give this a thumbs up.
😁 Thank you, Sir!
Hi Terry,
When I linked to the Soul version, I could not scroll down. It might be a glitch on my end.

Best,
David
PS I've fixed the Soul version link. Thanks for telling me about it.

Drat on you performing that song. Ha ha!
😂😂 I know my limits!
No you don't!!!!! 🤣😉
As Dirty Harry was wont to say, a man's got to know his limitations
No limits! At your age? If not now, when??
Isn't that a Primo Levy quote? Lol
Hahaha
😁
Oh wow, I'd never heard of riffusion - absolutely awesome, Mitchell!
Ain't it just
It already has in my case 😱
OMG. I didn't know about riffusion. Brilliant! Thanks very much 😂
