Just my sort of book review, thank you! I've read one or two of these, but because of the way you wrote about them, you've given me confidence to try others. I might now tackle Baldwin, for instance
I've never read any of these books but I'll put them on my list. I can't wait to hear the bookshelf collapse story. In the picture, it looks like a few of the shelves may be bending. Maybe it's just the angle, I don't know.
I hope you enjoy them. Actually, they are bending, but it's a bit more complicated than that! Yes, I suppose I will have to write about it, though I fear it's not as interesting as you might believe!
Great post, Terry. I read 'The Go-Between' for A-level English. I remember the story of the weather - that heatwave that at first was great but which became so oppressive - running alongside the much deeper story. I might dig it out again - thank you.
Mark, because I have no place butting in when no one asked me, I wanted to recommend LEAVING THE ATOCHA STATION. Amazing author, melancholy great book.
I thought the fact that comments are not only allowed but encouraged, "butting in" is actually de rigeur. I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to use that phrase!

I'd forgotten about that aspect, Rebecca. Thanks
Laurie Moore and Ben Lerner! Mmmm! Mind candy right there!
I am intrigued enough to want to read some of these, thank you!
