I've never read any of these books but I'll put them on my list. I can't wait to hear the bookshelf collapse story. In the picture, it looks like a few of the shelves may be bending. Maybe it's just the angle, I don't know.

I hope you enjoy them. Actually, they are bending, but it's a bit more complicated than that! Yes, I suppose I will have to write about it, though I fear it's not as interesting as you might believe!

Great post, Terry. I read 'The Go-Between' for A-level English. I remember the story of the weather - that heatwave that at first was great but which became so oppressive - running alongside the much deeper story. I might dig it out again - thank you.

Mark, because I have no place butting in when no one asked me, I wanted to recommend LEAVING THE ATOCHA STATION. Amazing author, melancholy great book.
