Your printer probably has all sorts of features you never dreamed of. For example, colour printers often have 4 options: Economy, Normal and Best, plus a black/white option. There might also be a special photographs option. You can usually find the printer settings in System Preferences (Mac) and Control Panel or Settings (Windows).
