Insider peeks #3
Preverbs, a new experiment and the inside story of the extract from the book that doesn't exist.
Thanks for being a paid subscriber to Eclecticism. In today’s “insider peek” I have for you:
A brand new experiment in style.
An inside look into how I tackled the challenge to write an extract of a book after it had been reviewed.
And a semi-automated preverb generator.
The preverb generator
A preverb is an invention of the Oulipo, a group that advocates using constraints to generate new writing. You can create a preverb by mashing up existing proverbs, to see what you end up with.Hopefully it will inspire you to write something new as a result.
You can do the mashing up manually or you can get a computer to do the heavy lifting. Read on for details of how to download Terry’s Preverb Generator.
